Mission #2
May 2008: After releasing our frogs and finding ourselves with a spare tank we decided to try our hand at breeding the white cloud mountain minnows. We took three females and one male from the main tank and transferred them to the ex-frog tank where they will be fed live food (daphnia) and monitored for egg laying. We moved them because we felt if they laid eggs in the larger tank, the goldfish would eat them. However, as an experiment, we have placed spawning mops in both the smaller, breeding, tank and the larger tank. Hopefully the minnows will breed and their offspring will survive.
